Are there any Foster requirements?
Our hopes is that the animal you choose to foster will be able to stay in your home until adopted. We know that that is not always doable, but for this reason, so we are now offering short term fostering. Can you foster for one night? How about a weekend? If your foster animal is not a good fit for your home, or if you have an emergency, we will definitely make arrangements to move your foster to another home.
-
How to avoid picking the wrong pet?
The purpose of the foster application is to help us match you with the right animal to foster. This is why we require this to be done prior to fostering. If it still doesn’t work out, that is no problem. We will move your foster to another foster home.

Vet Q&A: Do you provide medical care for my foster?
We provide all medical care for the animals in our rescue and that include the foster in your home. We do have some restrictions. We require all fosters to use approved vet clinics and all expenses must be approved prior to being billed. We will pay all invoices when the animal goes to the veterinarian, but will not reimburse non approved vet expenses. Typically we call in payment at the time of exam or our approved vet clinic have payment on file already. It would be rare that any expense would come out of your pocket.
-
Do you provide all the supplies to foster?
We provide all basic supplies when you foster. This includes but is not limited to bowls, food, leashes, collars, harness, toys, treat for dogs and bowls, food, litterbox supplies, and toys for cats. We sometimes get other things donated to us like scratching posts for cats and will offer these to fosters when we have them available. You do not have to use our supplies, but we request you use the same food we feed the other animals in our rescue. This is to help avoid tummy troubles when they get adopted. If you decide to purchase supplies for your foster, we unfortunately do not reimburse these purchases at this time.
-
Do I have to transport my foster anywhere?
While our preference is that you are able to transport your foster to the vet and possible some other appointments, like an adoption event or adoption appointment. It is not a requirement. We will help provide any transport needed.
-
Can I adopt my foster?
Yes, you will be required to fill out the adoption application and pay the adoption fee. Only under special circumstances will an adoption fee be discounted for fosters wanting to adopt their foster pet.
-
How will my foster get adopted?
We promote our animals on several online adoption websites, post them on our social media and sometimes will have adoption events. Due to Covid-19 there are no scheduled adoption events where crowds are formed. You are not required to find our foster a home, but it always helps if you help network them to friends and family. If you foster has an adoption appointment scheduled, we will retrieve your foster and take him/her to their forever home for a home check and completion of the adoption contract.
